This document reviews where diagnosis codes appear in the software and how to use them in EHR and billing. Learn how to create a favorites list to create efficiencies in documentation.
The Diagnosis window displays selection options on the left and current diagnoses on the right.
- Search for a specific code by keyword or code
- The default list on the left is Favorites. Use the pull-down selector to choose the Wizard, which helps you find the code by body region.
- Current diagnoses appear in the right-hand panel.
- Icons along the top of current Diagnosis
- Refresh Icon
- Click the Clear Diagnosis button to remove all current codes
- Click Finished after adding codes for the patient.
- Show History

Using the Diagnosis Code Wizard
The Wizard helps you find the correct codes by filtering the full list by body region.
Even though all diagnosis codes are included, you may have to make manual adjustments to accommodate details that are not part of the default list.
Setting Diagnosis Code Favorites
Create a list of diagnosis codes you use frequently. Use the Search All Diagnosis box for a specific code or use the Wizard to walk you through the selection.
Utilities - System Setup - Doctor Setup - History/Exam - Diagnosis Favorites
Under Ungrouped section you can right click and Add to a Group
Select a Group already Created or click Add New Group at the bottom
Click Add New Group
Once Added you will see the Group Listed Below
Use the Wizard to create a list of the diagnosis codes you use most frequently.
Click and drag codes into an order that makes them easiest to use for diagnosing and for billing.
Click the Trash Can icon to delete individual codes or clear the entire list by clicking the Clear Favorites button at the top of the panel.

In the Doctor Note the Diagnosis Groups will show like below
Click Pencil to Edit or trash can to remove
Diagnosis Pointing
The system can be set to point to the first four codes by default. It's important to work through each charge to make sure the codes are pointed correctly.
