File Vault is an integrated document storage tool that allows you to upload documents by scanning or selecting from your computer. There are five categories for storing documents: Office, Employee, Vendor, Insurance, and Patient. The Insurance and Patient attachments are available to all users. The other folders can be secured by permission in Settings.



Settings

The Insurance folder is accessible to all users and is located in each Master Carrier's record

Click Billing - Carriers - Master Carriers
Choose the Master Carrier and select the Attachments tab

If you are having issues scanning try rebooting the scanner and the computer as this is a quick and easy resolution!
If your scanner does not appear in the dropdown or notes WIA before the device name, you will need to obtain the TWAIN driver for your device. Perform an online search for the device's make and model drivers, ie HP Officejet Pro 8710 drivers. Ensure to click a link from the manufacturer and not a 3rd party. Here you can download and install a full suite of drivers for the device or in some instances it will note the scanner TWAIN driver separately. Most websites provide great instructions for the download and installation of the drivers.
