Changing a Patient's Case

This document shows how to change a patient's case.

  1. The method to activate and deactivate existing cases is changed from check boxes to links.
  2. Assigning a new case to existing patient visits is easier.

Information about existing case change functionality is not included.

Changing the Case Status

Once a case is deactivated, it can be found under the patient Utilities.

Changing the Case for a Date of Service

After a patient visit, change the case and assign visits to that case.

1.  Select the new case using the Case type drop down

2.  Select the Financial Class

3.  Add your description of the New Case

4.  To reassign visits to the New Case, you will mark the box that says "Default Case for this Patient"

5.  You can choose all or make a choice on any complaints you want to carry over

6.  If you want to include the Diagnosis Codes make sure to mark the box

This change automatically updates the appointments and the documents to reflect the new case.
