Anytime a patient makes a credit card payment that is swiped on your credit card processor or someone enters the payment by typing in their credit card information, issuing a refund will put the money back to the card that was initially used for payment.
Refunding monies back to the Patients Credit Card

After you click yes, the monies will be put back onto the patient's Credit Card.
The time it takes the patient's credit card to reflect the credit, is dependent on their bank.
Manual Refund
A Manual Refund is necessary when the original payment was taken using a debit card, then issued back cash or check from the office.
If your patient would like to have a refund in a different method than the original credit card they used, you can select the Manual Refund on the refund screen. This allows the account to reflect the refund but does not put money back to the card. You would have to issue them cash or a check.

Refund is not showing as an option
Same day payments will only show a Void option off of the flag. Refund option is for a payment that is made after 24 hours or older. If you Void it will stop the payment process.
