If you have an APEX cap, you have the choice to auto adjust any balance over the cap in charge entry automatically.
Everyone's setting will be defaulted as not checked, therefore there will be no auto adjust until you check the box.
Leaving the Automatic Adjust box unchecked
When this box is unchecked, at charge entry either through the Doctor superbill or manual entry, charges will have to be manually adjusted for anything over the Cap Rate as you see necessary.
Leaving the Automatic Adjust box Checked
Anything that is not included in APEX or the Cap rate will not be adjusted but will become part of the balance.
Patient Ledger
In the Patient Ledger in the plus sign next to the blue charge flag, it will show the automatic adj reason.
