Utilizing Outcome Assessments

Updated on

Outcome Assessments are a vital tool for objectively quantifying a patient's level of function. HealthCORE includes eight outcome assessments built into the system covering everything from the traditional Revised Oswestry to a Carpal Tunnel Questionnaire. Outcome Assessment questions are answered by the patient on the kiosk 1) when they're a New Patient, 2) at their Re-Exam, 3) if they're a Reactivation, or 4) when a new injury accident or fall is chosen at the check in.

The patient's answers along with pre-mapped goals, are viewed through the Case History in EHR. Goals are editable.

Outcome Assessment Parameters

Choose 1 test per Region. If patient chooses a Region that is pointed to the same test as another Region, the kiosk will only ask that test for 1 Region.  Example If patient chooses Neck and Upper back, the kiosk will only ask Neck Disability once since both Regions are pointed to the same test!

In EHR Setup, select the test(s) for each body region.

It's a good idea to limit the number of complaints for which outcome assessment questions are asked. Otherwise, it could be frustrating for patients to answer a long list of questions

Viewing Outcome Assessment Responses

Assessment scores are calculated and appear for each complaint where questions were answered.
